Here, you’ll discover a range of transverse double Love Flutes. Years ago, Inspired by an instrument crafted by a Peruvian master, I’ve developed transverse drone flutes. While still a double flute, it distributes sound differently, offering a distinct playing sensation that is closer and even more encompassing for the player. They are particularly suitable for those with prior flute-playing experience.
A Unity drone Flute consists of two single flutes joined together lengthwise, featuring a single blow hole in the center. One side is equipped with sound holes like a regular flute, while the other, in the same tonality, lacks holes, producing a base tone that creates a drone-like quality to the sound. Playing it creates the feeling of mastering two flutes simultaneously. A plug is provided to close the drone part, allowing enjoyment of a single flute. Additionally, the drone part may have 2-3 extra holes, closed with plugs to modify the base tone, resulting in multiple playing modes. For instance, with two extra holes on the drone part, you’d have four different playing modes – a single flute plus three variations when playing a double flute.
